Who we are
I am Marco, a 32 y.o. tour guide from Barletta, with a bunch of years of experience accompanying travelers among the wonderful places of Puglia. If you like a static and didactic tours I won’t definitely be your guide but if you are seeking for a dynamic and informal one, just pick me! I will make you enjoy the most beautiful spots of Puglia like a true local, among amazing landmarks, ancient traditions and delicious food from the heel of Italy.
What we offer
The brand new layout of the Giuseppe De Nittis pinacothèque, in the splendid Baroque setting of Palazzo della Marra is a must visit place in Barletta.
Ours will be a real journey back in time, between Puglia, Naples, London and Paris. A journey full of colors and impressions of the famous Barletta painter, who with his enameled skies, scenes of common life and portraiture was able to reproduce on canvas a real golden age for art and painting from the late 1800s.
I will guide you to discover these magnificent paintings, showing you unexpected details and features, telling you anecdotes related to the artistic and private life of Giuseppe De Nittis and to the legacy that his wife Leontine donated to the city of Barletta.
What will you do
We will meet in front of the entrance of Palazzo della Marra about 15mins before the guided tour. After a quick body temperature measurement, we will start the visit from the first floor of the pinacothèque where we will see paintings related to each city in which Giuseppe De Nittis lived in, japonism and landscapes. The second floor will be dedicated to his family, his friends, colleagues and the legacy of his wife Leontine to the city of Barletta.
